It's a Boy!

Our sweet surprise baby boy was born on January 20, 2013 at 5:37On January 19, 2013, I went into labor with contractions around 9pm.  They started to get closer together so we went to the hospital where they monitored me forever it seemed.  Around 4:30am, I was worried they were going to send me home because I wasn't progressing.  I had the most wonderful nurse who helped move things along, and the strong contractions started coming closer together.  It was a long road of labor and basically when I got to 9cm the doctor broke my water, but I never progressed so I had to push to 10cm since it wasn't my first baby.  I was induced with both girls and Amelia came so quickly that we thought this would happen too.  Unfortunately, he was face up so they had to turn him in the womb.  The doctor said that having a face up baby is like having an extra 2 lbs which would have felt almost like pushing out a 10 lb baby.  My epidural didn't work too great either.  It was a long, exhausting delivery, but it was so exciting to see Josh (who was the best coach!) look down toward to "key" area and said "It's a Boy!"  We just cried together!!  Here are a few pics from that very special day.

Meet Alexander Davis!  We are calling him Alex.

Big boy three weeks early.  My doc said another week, and I probably would have had a c-section.  Thank you Lord for bringing him early.

If you have seen my other deliveries, I always had great pictures after delivery because of the induction. I had to work hard for this baby boy.  I could barely smile I was so worn out.  My hair is a mess and the makeup was all sweated off.

Sweet baby boy Day 2.

The girls coming to visit their new brother.  They just knew the name was Alex, but they didn't know it was a boy.

Checking out their baby brother.

Amelia is just so in love.  She is constantly kissing him.

First family picture of us five!

The biggest sister holding her brother.

Both girls look so gigantic compared to Alex.  We are so blessed by our three sweet babies!

Amelia is totally in love with her baby brother.

Merry Merry

My blogging or picture-updating has gotten fewer and further between.  I hate that because I want to keep documenting my sweet girls lives.  We had a wonderful Christmas/ New Year's and celebrated Amelia's 2nd Birthday.  My how time has flown by.  She is having a little family party this weekend so hopefully it won't take me a month to upload them.  We are anxiously awaiting Baby #3.  I am 35 weeks and having a lot of contractions, but I am sure this one will stay put until my induction at 39 weeks.  We can't wait to see our little surprise and the girls are both so excited.  Avery has now come to terms with the fact that this might not be a girl and has accepted the possibility of a boy.  She can't wait to be a big helper.  Amelia is just a ball of fun and a bull in a China closet.  She has more bumps and bruises, and mostly, she doesn't seem too affected by it.  The girls love playing babies so hopefully they will enjoy their babies while I am taking care of the new one.  Here are just a few pics of the girls.  More to come (hopefully!)

Avery's Christmas program at pre-school. She doesn't look to happy here, but she really had fun and sang a lot.

Avery with her two grandmothers at her program, Ma Z and Gi Gi.

Avery and her Pops.  (Picture quality messed up during upload...still unsure why).

Me and Avery. I love this picture.  She is my sweet Angel!

We took the girls to the park in our neighborhood to take some pictures for Christmas cards.  The had some funny, precious ones so had to share.

They truly love being together.

This is totally both of the girls.  Avery is my drama mama and Amelia is just goofy.  Amelia's newest thing is growling her words.

Sweet girl posing.

Amelia didn't want to stay still

Another funny one of the dancing girl and the silly girl.

My first born blessing

My second born blessing.
Can't wait to meet the third!!

Fall Fun

We took the girls to the fall festival in our neighborhood this year.  My sister and Carson met us there.  The kids had so much fun!  Just a few pics of the HOT Texas day!

The best of the three kiddos.  My sister got the girls their precious Hello Kitty outfits.  Perfect for the weather.

So cute..stair steps.

Amelia gets so red when she is hot but so sweet.

Enjoying some lunch under the shade tree with Daddy!  Josh sporting his Tech hat in honor of my Red Raiders!

Just monkeying around

Carson getting batman face painting

Avery getting a butterfly

Sweet cousins

Riding the ponies together.  Amelia just sat on it, and I have attempted to upload three different pictures and all came up fuzzy.  I seriously need to figure out why my blog looks cruddy compared to so many others.

Carson with the smiling Llama.  It literally smiled when you held up the camera.

Sallisaw 2012

We had a wonderful trip to Sallisaw America (Oklahoma) during Labor Day.  Josh's grandfather turned 89 yesterday!  We were happy to be there early to celebrate and see all but one second-cousin.   The girls had a blast.  We didn't go last year so this was Avery's first visit.  We flew this time, and Josh's mom went with us too.  It was such a huge a help.  The girls were great.  Going there, neither of them slept, but Amelia slept almost the whole way home.  Here are a few pics from the trip.

Amelia's first flight.  Paci in ready to help with the ears.  She liked the Dum Dum better than the paci though.
Josh's mom with Avery (I still need to figure out why some pictures upload funny)
Picture a little out of order, but we had a fun pool party at Josh's cousin's house.  They have a gorgeous pool and outdoor kitchen area.  All the great-grandkids (minus one - Jason) with Bobo.

The girls with their second cousins, Gus and Emma.  Such precious girls!

Enjoying a delicious grape popsicle on a hot summer day.

Happy girl after her nap.

Back to the pool party...all of the fabulous photos from here on are courtesy of Josh's cousin, Jennifer.  Maybe someday I will take great pics like her.

Avery LOVES her second cousin, Matthew.  She was glued to him the whole trip.

I think Avery just tried to take a chunk out of Matt's hair.

Amelia just chillin' while Gus was pushing her around.

Almost the whole gang that was in town for the holiday weekend...Lani is taking the picture so we miss her.  Can't wait to go back soon!  I guess it will be after #3 arrives.

First Day of Preschool 2012

I am going to make a concerted effort to get back on track with blogging.  I might even actually try "blogging" and not just picture sharing.  For now, here are the girls first day of Preschool.  This was Amelia's first year and Avery's second.  Avery was definitely an "old pro."  Amelia did really well; she didn't even cry when we left her.  She took a nap too which was a huge feat since Avery had to have her back rubbed last year to go to sleep.  So needless to say, Avery was pretty spoiled by her sweet teachers last year so she hasn't napped much this year.  Avery's class is definitely encouraging them to grow up which makes me sad, but I also love to see what she is learning.

On another note, Avery is saying the most hysterical things these days.  She says "actually" a lot.  She said "Mommy, do you know what is totally gross?"  I said "no what?"  Avery: "Coffee."  Don't know where she got that from, but I guess I can't agree with her more.  The other day I was asking her to put her shoes in her room, and she said "I'm on it."  Just cracked me up!

Amelia is also talking up a storm too.  She has latched on to a bunny that she got at Easter, but the funny part is that she calls it "Money."  She goes around the house saying "Money, Money" in a precious, high-pitched voice.  She also puts the word "me" in front of most everything.  "Me Pass (for pacifier), "Me Money," "Me Poop."  She is a hoot.  Her facial expressions in these pictures from school are hysterical.  She really is such a happy, easy-going baby.  I guess she is a baby for a few more months...boohoo!

Posing at the house.  Amelia was not into the picture taking.

Cracking me up

Walking into school.  Notice how Amelia's backpack is in the center of her calves.  She would not let me hold the handle to lighten the load.  She said "no,no, no Mommy."  Cheap mommy wasn't going to spend $10 less for the preschool backpack that would only last one year at most.

Avery getting to see one of her best girlies, another Avery!

So happy they are in the same class again.

We were thrilled Josh got to come this year.

Amelia in her new class room just checking things out.

Not sure what to think, but she never fussed.  Just kept her hands in her mouth a lot.  I am sure we will be getting some wonderful sicknesses soon.  :)

Went back to check-in with Avery and she was already building a train.

She looked at me and said "Mommy, can I stay in my class?"  She was so happy to be back in school.

On the baby front, all is going well so far with Baby #3.  Going to have the big ultrasound on October 5th, but we are still not finding out the sex and we are still so excited about it so don't try to talk me into it.  :)   Avery is determined to have another baby sister and even decided her name should be Jilla or Ariel.  Sorry folks those names will not be making the cut,  but it does make us laugh.  I really started feeling the baby move last week, and I swear he/she used both feet to kick at once while I was watching "The Voice."  It made me jump.  Can't wait for the end of January but treasuring all the moments of a family of four!
