Easter Weekend

We had a lovely Easter weekend.  We started to celebrate early with my family as my parents and sister would be out of town.  Then we went to our family Easter Egg hunt at my Aunt and Uncle's house.  It was so much fun!  Avery really loved it.  Sunday we enjoyed the day at church celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior.  We had a great lunch with Josh's extended family.  It was a great weekend!  Here are a few pics of the weekend.

Dinner with her favorite (and only) cousin, Carson (or Carsy as Avery calls him)
My parents with Amelia.  She is looking at Ma Z.
Throwing pennies in the water fountain.

Our family at the Easter Egg Hunt.
They had two bouncers and one was for little kids.  She was in heaven.
Pretty much stayed on the slide the entire time. We had to bribe her out with snacks.
 Getting ready for the hunt.

Putting a Cascarone on Daddy's head.
 Now Daddy's turn.
Avery just put one in my hair.
Daddy is bad influence...gave Avery her first taste of Cotton Candy.  She didn't love it though.

The girls' Easter baskets.
Easter morning!

We had to wake her up on Easter morning.

Happy Hunting!
Daddy showing her what is inside the eggs.

At church on Easter Sunday

Josh's parents with the girls
Since she never gets a close-up...Amelia all dolled up in roses.
At lunch at Granny Helen's house with Auntie Viv.  I didn't take too many pictures at lunch (food was important)...sorry everyone!
Granny got Avery a bunny cake.

Blessings

We are blessed beyond measure and are so grateful for our precious girls and sweet nephew. My parents wanted a picture of all of their grandchildren so we took the kiddos to get their pictures made. Here are a few of the pictures.

Amelia Grace at 15 weeks.

Avery Blake at 23 months (will be two on May 1st - time is flying by so fast!!)

The girls with their favorite cousin, Carson (age 3).  This was the best picture of all three.  Amelia is about to  fall off the pillow.
Carson with his baby cousin, Amelia.  Avery was a little pistol and was challenging to get into the photos.
I loved this pic, but I can't figure out how to turn it on Blogger.  Sorry!

Isn't he a doll?

Carson found this prop on the wall and brought it to Avery.  She is ready for "All that Jazz!!"
Playing around with the hat.  They thought it was hysterical.
Trying to do a group picture again.  Carson and Amelia are ready and Avery is not cooperating....
Then Amelia looses it....
Carson and Avery:  "what's up with this crying baby?"
Avery:  "I'll fix it."

Easter Playdate

Enjoyed a fun playdate with good friends today. The kids got to hunt Easter eggs after lunch. Avery was really into it. She wanted to open the eggs before putting them in her basket. Here are a few pictures from the day. Thanks gals for a great morning!!
Avery loves to swing and even likes to be like the big kids and swing on her tummy.
Cheesing for the camera.
So precious...wish Amelia was looking up.  After the picture, I almost fell over trying to get Amelia that Avery was so gently PUSHING out of her arms.  haha!
The precious kiddos minus two that were there.  Avery definitely has the pick of the boys.  Josh will be mad that I am saying that.  LOL!

Our house is.....

Paci-free!!!  Well, at least for Avery! :)

I wanted to potty train Avery, and my mom so kindly pointed out to me that a little girl who could be potty-trained should be broken of her pacifier first.  She was so right!  Well, I started almost two weeks ago during naptime only.  It was horrible...for three days straight, she cried for two hours until she cried herself to sleep.  I still let her have it at night-time.  I would tell her she could have it at night-time when it was really dark.  Two Fridays ago, Josh's parent's offered to have Avery spend the night.  I sent the paci, but they said she never asked for it so they didn't give it to her.  Score!  I decided that we were going to cold-turkey, all or nothing after that.  I just told her that it was at GiGi's house when she asked for it, and we would get it next time we see her.  She only asked for it once the next two days and nothing has been said again.  The downside is that it takes her FOREVER to go to sleep during nap and night-time.  We have tried to wear her out so she will be very tired, but she will talk to herself for over an hour all the time.  It is harder on Mommy than Avery. :)

Next step will be the Big Girl bed (twin bed)!  Today, when I went to get her out of her crib, she said "I want down" like she normally does (no more cuddling and holding in the morning).  The next thing I know she has both legs swung over the crib like she was sitting on the rail.  I am suspecting it will be this week that I find her playing in her room rather than in her crib.  Will keep you posted.  Here are a few pics from this weekend.  I need to take more of Amelia, but it seems I take pics when Amelia is sleeping.

Oh, on another note, Amelia laughed out loud yesterday at Avery rolling on the floor.  It was so cute.  Avery also was hysterically laughing this morning at Amelia who was kicking and cooing.  Her arms and legs where just flailing around and Avery said "she is so funny."  I can't wait to see them together as Amelia gets bigger.

In a few weeks, Avery will be two.  We gave her this swing for her 1st birthday.  She still loves to "Swing high"
She sees the camera now and says "cheese."  Bummer!
Check out my amaryllis.  We moved them to another flower bed so only two bloomed this year, but they are so pretty.
Our first baby girl, Hagen, loves having two little girls in her house.  Unfortunately, she gets booted to the backyard more because Mommy feels like everyone is under her feet.  She still gets lots of loving at night though.

Little Miss Momma

Avery has always loved baby dolls, but since she got a little sister, she is even more of a Little Momma!  My sister gave her this doll for Christmas, and she has to be completely undressed at all times.  Her batteries have been dead for a while so I put new ones in this morning.  The baby looks possessed because only one of her eyes opens and closes.  I think you can see it on the 3rd video if you look closely.  Here are a few videos of my Little Momma!

The girls

I couldn't come up with a catchy title today so here it is. :)  All is well in our home.  I caught the little cold or allergies that the girls had over the weekend so we tried to lay low this weekend.  Everyone is getting better, I am happy to report.  Josh worked so hard this weekend on the yard.  It looks so nice.

Just hanging out yesterday afternoon.  Amelia's eczema is gone...thank you Lord!  I am still nursing and also using Nutramigen formula.  She doesn't love it, but whatever we are doing is working.  Also using aquaphor soap.
Avery is now into the "Cheese" stage.

Had to share this video (quality is poor though).  Avery loves Hagen so much!  She just cracks us up.  Avery had half of a golden oreo in her hand (she licks the inside out and gives us or Hagen the cookie).  This is a game they play everyday.
