First time to see Santa

Avery went to sit on Santa's lap.  I was a little worried when we arrived and Santa was on a break.  We had to wait about 30 minutes, but she entertained everyone in line.  She is really a lot of fun these days. She has a new laugh and also a very loud, shrilling cry. :)  Merry Christmas to Everyone from our family to yours!

Happy Holidays

It seems like it has been forever since I have posted so lots to share.  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with both of our families, but we were all sick.  I thought Avery was finally teething which caused her a stomach bug, but come to find out it must have been a stomach virus because Josh and my in-laws all got it.  I had a cold...so it was a very uneventful holiday weekend.  We had to miss Josh's cousin's wedding...we were bummed.  We have so much to be thankful for with our new addition to Thanksgiving this year.  I posted a few weeks ago that Avery started crawling and now she is everywhere.  We will look up, and she will be across the room.  So, we have now the joy of baby proofing the house.  Our Security Manager at my work gave us all the safety items so we are ready to go.  Since we were all sick, I haven't begun putting up all of our Christmas decorations.  We did get the tree up last night so we are anxious to see when Avery starts making her way over there.

On the helmet front, Avery is making progress.  Thank you for all of the prayers.  Two weeks ago, we had another scan of her head.  The scan showed she has made progress in the front of her head and now they are working on the back.  I finally received all of the paperwork from her pediatrician and the therapist.  The pediatricians had some discrepancies on it (like the mention of the wrong insurance company...ahhh!), but as soon as that is complete I can send in the appeal.  Please keep this in your prayers.

On Sunday, November 22, we had the wonderful blessing of dedicating Avery back to God at church.  It was such a sweet experience.  Our Pastor, Mark Hartman and his wife, Kathy, were there to pray for Avery.  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful church home.  Here are a few pics.

On stage at the church after Avery's dedication.

We had our family over for lunch and dessert. Look at the precious cake (I didn't make it).

Posing again with our little Angel.  She is getting so big.  Seven months on Dec 1st.

Avery had found she loves to crawl under everything now especially her exersaucer.

"Look at me, mommy!"
I wanted you to see her curls, but at the same time I took the picture she spit up.  Sorry!

Avery pulls herself up on her bouncer and the ottoman. She thinks she can be very independent, but then she falls on her fanny.
Avery's favorite puppy stinks like nothing I have smelled before.  So you mothers know the celebration I had when I found another exactly like it.  She fell in love with this puppy only two months ago.  See the new fluffy puppy on the left compared to the old one.  Needless to say...she loves the nasty smell.  She is not ready to sleep with the new one yet.  I find myself rubbing the new puppy to the old one.  Geez!

Crawling under the coffee table at my parents house in her Thanksgiving outfit.  There is not a good picture of her cute outfit"

She is on the run...

Avery crawled tonight for the first time before she went to bed. 11/11/09 - 6 months and 1 week old! She has been rocking back and forth for several weeks, and she just took off tonight. Here is a little video of our precious girl.

Happy Halloween and more...

My new favorite picture.
Little Avery all bundled up on her way to dinner on one of the first cold nights. Josh and I celebrated our fourth anniversary not too long ago, and we decided to forgo any traditional gifts and we went practical and got a VACUUM! "Four years just don't SUCK"...haha...get it...suck...vacuum. :) All kidding aside, I have had a wonderful four years with a very sweet husband and now a new beautiful, sweet baby girl.

Happy Halloween!!!

Avery's first costume was Glenda the Good Witch. She had a little scepter too that she really enjoyed waving. Ok, I didn't plan on two costumes, but I saw this costume two days before at Babies R Us for $5. I couldn't pass it up. She was such a doll as a flower. Avery and her mommy! Avery and her cousin, Carson the puppy. They were so cute together. Carson and Avery posing for the photoshoot for Halloween. My sister and I with the kiddos. Look how Avery's little feet are crossed like a little princess.

Off to the Beach...

We have been busy getting ready for Halloween even though Avery will not remember her first Halloween. More pictures to come. We took Avery to another Pumpkin Patch at our favorite nursery, Enchanted Forest. We took a day trip to Galveston. Here are a few pictures of our recent events. Happy Halloween everyone!

A prayer request...the insurance company denied Avery's helmet. We are appealing. Please pray that the insurance company would see how much it can affect her growth rather than seeing it as cosmetic.

Our little family in Galveston. It was pretty windy that day so Avery had a hat versus her normal helmet. (Thanks Cori...the hat is so adorable!!)
Kristin, my sister, Andrew and little Carson. Erin's parents with their grandchildren.

Avery and her cousin, Carson, getting their pumpkins from MomZ and Pops (erin's parents).
Avery playing with her very practical gift of toothbrush/toothpaste.
Posing! This is the last picture you will see with the ladybugs on her helmet. They all started to scratch off and then it started looking trashy so I scratched them all off. I need to decide if I am going to try again with something different or leave it pink.
"Check out my onesie that my Daddy bought me....TEETHING BITES"

"My serious face."
Avery is about to eat the leaf she pulled off this bush.
"I love my fingers and anything else I can get in my mouth."
Basking in a sea of pumpkins.

Had to take this picture...wouldn't it be great to be a cat. This is at the nursery, Enchanted Forest. Josh and Avery just chillin while I shopped for plants.

Check out our handiwork...we planted dianthas, violas, and red cabbage. I will post pictures when it grows.

Fall Fun

We took a trip to Beaumont this past weekend to see both of my grandmothers. Before we left, I painted Avery's helmet. It turned out pretty cute, but it is already starting to peel a bit so I have to figure out a new sealer. Here are a few pictures.

Avery's helmet all decorated with Lady Bugs.

One of my grandmother's church had a pumpkin patch. We took her on a spur on a moment to take a few pics. Out of the 20 pictures taken, the majority of them she was looking down at the pumpkins.
She is watching all of the little kids.
Big girl sitting on a hay.

Playing on the floor at Grammy's.
Avery staring at her great-grandmother, Grammy.
Avery and her other great-grandmother, Nanny, getting ready for church.
First bath sitting in a deep sink. She had so much fun playing with the water and splashing.

Bath time is tons of fun!!!
